TALK Research for Psychologists

TALK Research is a series online CPD that makes interaction research evidence accessible for psychologists to excel at listening to clients. Members have access to regular reviews that synthesise the evidence and clinical implications of research on psychotherapeutic interactions. Reviews include just-published and classic research from Q1 journals and chapters from edited collections of studies that investigate how therapeutic talk works.

Every review provides a succinct and expert summary from Dr Amelia Church of a research paper drawn from discursive psychology, conversation analysis, psycholinguistics, applied linguistics, sociology, linguistic anthropology or psychology. Membership allows psychologists to engage with research evidence that explains how interactions are managed in therapy.

Each year, members qualify for a total of four hours of professional development by spending no more than 10 minutes a fortnifght reading (or listening) to a review. The membership fee of $15 per month (or $150 per year) includes:

  • 24 fortnightly research reviews over the course of the year;

  • Written and audio versions provided for each review;

  • Prompts for professional reflection;

  • Copy of written reflection for each review as record of professional learning;

  • Ongoing access to all reviews;

  • Continuing professional development providing sustained reflection for improved learning;

  • access to future TALK Seminars courses for psychologists.
